Analytics Manager, Digital Marketing

πŸ“ RemoteπŸ•‘ Full-timeπŸŽ“ Senior Level

Why emagineHealth

We have spent 30 years doing one thing: digital marketing for healthcare and life sciences. Not as a vertical inside a generalist agency, but as the whole business.

That focus is the reason this role exists. Our clients include CDMOs, CROs, and pharmaceutical companies whose work improves, extends, and saves lives, and whose marketing is nothing like the e-commerce and lead-gen work most analytics people have spent their careers measuring. The buying cycles run for months or years. The addressable audiences are small enough that standard statistical methods break. The outcomes that matter often happen in a CRM, a contract, or a clinical program rather than in a conversion pixel. And the regulatory environment constrains what we are allowed to track and claim in ways that most marketers never have to think about.

Measuring that well is a genuine specialty. We are looking for someone who wants to become excellent at it.

The Role

You'll own measurement strategy for a portfolio of our clients. Most of your week is spent with those clients and with our strategy teams: defining what success actually looks like, explaining why performance moved, and making the case for what we do next.

You'll own the quality of the measurement infrastructure underneath that work and direct how it gets built, working with our in-house developers. You won't be hand-building every tag yourself.

You'll have the rest of our team alongside you. Brand strategists, designers, web developers, copywriters, and technical staff all sit in-house, so when your analysis says the landing page is the problem, the people who can fix it are on the same Slack.

The Problems You'd Be Working On

These are the questions our clients actually bring us, and the ones this role exists to answer better.

Attribution across a twelve-month buying cycle. A CRO's prospect reads a technical paper in March and signs in December. Last-click attribution is useless here. So is any model that assumes the journey fits inside a cookie window.

Statistical significance with small audiences. When the total addressable market is a few thousand people worldwide, you cannot run a conventional A/B test and wait for significance. Knowing what you can legitimately conclude from limited data, and being willing to say when you cannot conclude anything, matters more here than almost anywhere else.

Connecting marketing to outcomes that live outside marketing systems. The conversions that count are qualified opportunities, RFPs, and signed contracts. That means CRM integration, offline conversion imports, and a working relationship with client sales teams.

Measuring inside regulatory constraints. Health and life sciences marketing carries tracking and privacy limitations that most marketing analysts have never encountered. Part of this job is knowing where those lines are and designing measurement that respects them rather than discovering the problem during an audit.

Discovery moving into AI assistants. Scientific and clinical audiences are increasingly starting their research inside AI tools rather than a search results page. Nobody has this measurement solved yet. We are working on it, and we would like your help.

What You'll Do

Own the client relationship

  • Be the analytics voice your clients trust, not a resource pulled in when a report is due
  • Define KPIs, benchmarks, and targets with strategists and clients, and revisit them when they stop reflecting the business
  • Present findings, recommendations, and inconvenient truths to senior marketing and executive stakeholders
  • Translate constraints like privacy limits and attribution gaps into language a non-technical stakeholder can act on
  • Push back when the data doesn't support the strategy, and make the case for what it does support
  • Support budget pacing, forecasting, and scenario modeling
  • Bring data-backed audits and analysis into new business pitches

Explain why, not just what

  • Use segmentation, cohort analysis, funnel drop-off, and landing page behavior to explain what changed and why
  • Connect media investment to downstream business outcomes rather than platform-reported conversions
  • Separate correlation from incrementality, and know when a channel is claiming credit for demand it did not create
  • Choose the right tool for the question: multi-touch attribution, media mix modeling, geo testing, or holdouts
  • Apply statistics honestly, including recognizing when a difference is noise and saying so
  • Design and interpret tests on landing pages, creative, and email
  • Run deep dives when a client question has no dashboard answer

Build our AI search measurement practice

  • Develop approaches for measuring brand visibility across AI-powered search and answer experiences
  • Help clients understand what traditional funnel reporting now misses
  • Design test-and-learn programs as the landscape shifts
  • Bring what you learn on one account back to the rest of the portfolio

Make reporting worth reading

  • Own the dashboards clients actually use, including deciding what does not belong on them
  • Write the narrative: what happened, why, what we recommend, what it is worth
  • Query and join data across sources with SQL, including GA4's BigQuery export and CRM data
  • Use AI tools to accelerate analysis and client output, and build workflows that let the team do the same
  • Automate recurring reporting instead of rebuilding it

Direct the measurement foundation

Our developers handle implementation. You own whether it is right.

  • Set measurement architecture across client properties: GA4, Google Tag Manager, Search Console, call tracking
  • Write tracking plans before implementation begins, defining events, parameters, and conversion definitions
  • Audit and QA implementations, and recognize a bad one on sight
  • Spec dataLayer requirements for new builds and migrations
  • Ensure conversion tracking and offline conversion imports are configured correctly across ad platforms
  • Ensure Client Consent requirements are applied so measurement holds up under healthcare privacy requirements
  • Own naming conventions, UTM governance, and campaign taxonomy so data stays comparable over time

Raise the bar around you

  • Mentor analysts and build data literacy across strategy, media, and account teams
  • Document methodology so good practice outlasts any single engagement
  • Help define what analytics looks like here as the discipline changes

What We're Looking For

  • 5 to 7+ years in digital marketing analytics, with meaningful client-facing time
  • Evidence you have been the analytics lead in the room, not the person who built the deck someone else presented
  • Strong communication, including turning findings into narratives an executive will act on
  • The self-possession to say no, deliver hard feedback, and defend an unpopular finding to a paying client
  • Strong GA4 command, including the judgment to audit someone else's implementation
  • Google Tag Manager fluency sufficient to write specs, debug, and QA
  • Working SQL: joins, aggregations, CTEs, and comfort in an unfamiliar dataset
  • Dashboard development in Looker Studio or comparable tooling
  • Fluency with paid media reporting across Google Ads and at least one social platform
  • Working knowledge of SEO measurement using Search Console and SEMrush or Ahrefs
  • Comfort with experimentation and causal concepts including incrementality, holdouts, and lift
  • Practical fluency with AI tools in your analysis workflow
  • Curiosity about how AI is reshaping discovery and measurement
  • Able to manage multiple accounts and competing deadlines without losing the thread

Helpful, not required

  • Healthcare, pharma, or life sciences marketing experience
  • Understanding of how HIPAA and related privacy rules constrain tracking technologies
  • BigQuery and the GA4 raw event export
  • Server-side Google Tag Manager
  • Adobe Analytics
  • Python or R
  • Campaign Manager 360 and Search Ads 360
  • HubSpot, Salesforce, or Marketo
  • Familiarity with pharma data sources
  • Consent management platforms such as OneTrust or Cookiebot
  • Experience mentoring analysts
  • Experience building automations or internal tools

If you are strong on the analysis and client side but light on a few of the tools, apply anyway. We would rather teach GTM than teach judgment.

How We Work

Fully remote, and we mean it. No office you should visit, no hybrid schedule, no geographic radius. We have been distributed long enough to be good at it.

No micromanaging. You will not have someone watching your calendar or your keystrokes. We hire people who do not need it.

A team that acts like one. Trust, appreciation, and respect are not poster words here. HeyTaco on Slack lets people recognize each other's work, redeemable for rewards or donated to charity.

Work you can point at. Our clients are developing and manufacturing the therapies that improve, extend, and save lives. The measurement you build helps get those therapies in front of the people who need to know about them.

What We Offer

  • Medical and dental insurance
  • 401(k) with match
  • Graduated PTO and vacation policy, plus personal days
  • Professional development reimbursement
  • Fitness and wellness reimbursement
  • On-the-job training and development
  • Employee referral incentive
  • Opportunities to give back to the community

This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. The employee may perform other related duties as negotiated to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.

Remote position, U.S. based only.
